"I think it’s time for us to look at whether we want to amend that law to apply it to American citizens who choose to become affiliated with foreign terrorist organizations, whether they should not also be deprived automatically of their citizenship, and therefore be deprived of rights that come with that citizenship when they are apprehended and charged with a terrorist act."

Deprived when they're charged?

I still want to know where these tea baggers get off claiming their rights are being trampled by the health care act, when their elected conservative leaders are making unveiled assaults on the constitution.

deprived of their citizenship for associating with a group the US government chooses to call terrorist, thus depriving them of their rights when they are charged. lieberman should be dropped off in ramallah at midnight.

foreign terrorist organizations

The pertinent factor here. Who gets to define and choose, I wonder. And how much does the definition fit to the political flavor of the week?

the pertinent factor is that lieberman wants to deprive people of their citizenship for any reason just so we don't have to deal with those pesky rights.
