1 - the "dome" or "box" they are lowering to collect oil from the spill will only cover the smallest of three leaks.

2 - halliburton was working on maintenance on the rig right before it exploded.

It's a test for proof of concept. Apparently, the main leak is not as easy to get to or something, so they're working the easiest first. I heard about Halliburton, too. Bastards cemented at least one other that blew a platform. Makes you wonder how that fucking company still exists.

So they're calling this thing a "dome," despite the fact that it is obviously rectangular. Since it's to cover an oil well wouldn't we call it an "energy dome?"

(This will only be funny to folks of a certain age and musical inclination.)

Wikipedia is fast:
"Halliburton may also be implicated[49] in the oil spills in the Timor Sea off Australia in August 2009 and in the gulf of Mexico in April 2010 for improper cementing. An investigation is underway as to the cause of the Australia spill."

Gah ... this all sickens me.
