whatever. gay marriage is not a national issue. it will be decided state by state.

No, it won't, because, like Prop 8, each state law will wind up in front of SCOTUS.

Interesting. I don't think "There is no federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage" specifically means that she would rule against gay marriage. I imagine she doesn't believe in the constitutional right for anyone to get married, so where does that leave us? On what grounds would she actually rule?

But let's say that she would not be a friend to gay marriage. It would be a shame, but I don't think that one issue should disqualify her for the office. You can't agree with someone on everything. I think a better question is why she's being put forward for the job, when she's never written an opinion before.

The Gay Marriage issue is only one of her many problems. Read what Glenn Greenwald has to say about her.

Not that any of this matters. She will get confirmed and this country will continue its slide fully into the clutches of The Corporatists.
