THANK YOU. For years we've been interested in visiting Cuba - and thought about getting the education visas needed a couple years ago (while we were still librarians). I'm not sure if we'll be able to visit Cuba soon and get a glimpse before it becomes a different place altogether. (I bet the mojitos are perfect, but that coffee experience you had would practically kill me.)

I think that if its revolution had not occurred or failed, it would have eventually become a U.S territory like Puerto Rico. Regardless, tourism would have taken it over, with great wealth invading and building an enormous disparity between rich and poor, as in Acapulco.

The mojitos are perfect, indeed, and the music is just ...

It was already defacto a US territory at the time of the revolution, which is why, IMO, we unwisely chose not to support Castro. Remember, he was originally running for office within the system. Hindsight...
