It's pretty funny that you know that!

OK, just watched this - don't know what's better, the trailer or the comments.

Is the movie as good as the trailer?

Don't ask me, I didn't see the movie (ask Kevin). I might have seen it on the basis of the trailer, but then noticed it was rated R for violence and so I won't watch it.

It's one of my favorites. Weirder than the trailer.

R for violence? That's odd. I'm trying to think of the violence... There are some murders, but it's all off screen.

Seren, what's your opposition to violence in movies?

The dream they mentioned is warped, grainy footage.

Thanks for asking. As concise as possible, my opposition to violence in movies is that:

1. I simply don't find it entertaining - and often not necessary to successfully tell a story on film.

2. Even when violence is a necessary part of the story (such as in Slumdog Millionaire), I have to close my eyes, as those scenes are just too painful to view.

3. Extreme violence in too many films has desensitized viewers to the reality of violence in the real world. While watching a movie, you only see and hear what the filmmakers produce but you don't smell or feel the true horror of it.

I'm not going to recommend the film to you, because I don't know what you like, and you probably have plenty of other things to do, but I'd be surprised if the "violence" in this one bothered you much.

Dave, on the other hand, if you have a chance, see it.

That could have been misinformation about the violence in the film. The trailer made it seem pretty funny. I'm surprised Rob hasn't seen it, though. I'll read up more about it and maybe see it, thanks!
