the prosecutors in the mussaoui case should lose their jobs.

i am not a fan of the death penalty. i don't even think that they necessarily have a good case against him on the most serious charges.

they should be fired for the cavalier disregard for the constitution that is the hallmark of this administration.

at this point, all that is in jeopardy is whether mussaoui will live or die. he's in jail for life, regardless. but it could have just as easily led to a complete mistrial, or acquittal, as in the case of a certain b movie actor/football player named after a breakfast drink. just because cops and prosecutors play fast and loose with the law in primetime and the theaters doesn't mean it works in the real world.

How about the whole government and its cavalier disregard for the Constitution?

I very nearly lost it when I read what has just happened in that case. The spectacle of federal judges throwing up their hands in horror, one by one, in the face of this administration's defiance of the law is frightening.

I am unalterably opposed to the death penalty, but the morality/efficacy of capital punishment isn't even the issue here. It certainly appears that they have no basis for the case against M. on the capital charge. Which explains the appalling shenanigans of the prosecution. And which is a creepy element of this case, so evocative of witch-burning.

You have a mediocre prosecutor working for the TSA and she discusses the testimony of prior witnesses with future witnesses.

** And this has something to do with the administration? **

Dave, fair warning, the world is flat and if you go too far left, you will go over the edge. Also white hot hatred of anything is hard on the soul.

the ONLY case involving an actual Al Qaeda terrorist connected to 9-11 and you don't think the administration is involved?????? you are indeed an idiot. who put this "mediocre prosecutor" in charge? you know damn well the attorney general picked her. you also know damn well that the reason she had to coach her witnesses was that half the damn evidence was tainted because the bush whitehouse doesn't believe in due process. i often wonder who the 32% who approve of this criminal moron are, but then you pop in to answer my question.

anyway, i don't care, i'm moving to costa rica and you aren't invited.

Get your facts straight. Oh wait, it is you. LOL

She's an inexperienced TSA lawyer who either didn't realize or didn't care to realize that coaching witnesses by referring to other witnesses testimony is ILLEGAL.

Well, the trial is back on anyway with one of the many lawyers (she's in charge, good one) now needing a lawyer herself.

So brainless, you throw the Bush administration into the mix of these facts. Do you feel better now?

And move to Costa Rica already. Just like most LLLs, you talk and talk and don't do anything to try to change things. Moving to Costa Rica will change a lot. It'll at the very least increase the collective IQ of Arizona by one or two points.

Yes, I get it. You think I'm a moron. That's substantial. I tend to ignore that from people and hopefully refute with my thought-filled and sometimes caring and humorous responses. LOL

I don't support the Bush administration in all that is done by them. Just as you do not despise all that they do.

I rage but am not led by my hatred. I do not want, as some of your peeps seem to want, to slap some sense into liberals, throw anyone affiliated with liberalism unrightfully in jail. I just want to have a pleasant, meanigful conversation and point out inconsistencies, nuances, facts.

OK the last paragraph, this post really, is kind of laced with jocularity. Pleasant and meaningful conversations from the caring and love-filled left(tm) usually is a vacuous "want". Conversations between conservatives and liberals break down into the basist name calling rants meant for the lowest common denominator. It's like the Packers playing the Redskins.

That amuses me too.
