molino basin this morning

if you hike all the way to the top of molino basin, you come to another campground on the site of the old Federal Honor Prison. Mt Lemmon highway was built by prison labor, some of whom were American citizens of Japanese descent interred during WWII. in 1987, Reagan finally pardoned all of them and apologised. The campground is named after the man who fought it from beginning to end. This is his story:
