i'm sure you've noticed how many of my hiking pictures are of burned trees. in 2002, 75% of my favorite mountain range burned. it will be generations before it recovers, and some of it never will. species and habitat have been irrevocably destroyed. the fires were set by humans. more later when i have time to write.
