i was really hoping to get more serious and considered responses to my question. so far the nominations are:
James T. Kirk
Abraham Lincoln
Goofygrape
Senator John Kerry
Zuul
I posted the question in both of ana's bbs's also.
I'm going to add the late Robert Kennedy to the list, and also James Carville. Kennedy is the choice of my idealist side, and Carville the choice of my cynical half. Kennedy would inspire the nation to move in the right direction. Carville would manipulate it to the same ends.

I am stil open to more nominations, folks.
