if any of you were planning on travelling to india in the near future, be advised that prices if hotels have tripled over the past two years. i have the 2005 edition of the lonely planet, which puts the price of the room i was in last night at 350 rupees, or just about $9. it was actually 900 rupees. i'm seeing this everywhere. i got a look at the 2007 lonely planet, and it is accurate, but who knows where prices are going. the waiter at the restaurant in my hotel told me that tourism from europe and the US is way down this year. i'm not surprised.
