i don't say "african american" i say black. seven syllables is way too much, and the title is just plain silly anyway. that silliness was brought home when i was in india, hanging out with the scotland yard detective in jodhpur. i was momentarily confused as to how to identify her. african english? the only reason i even mentioned her race was the curiosity she posed to the locals.
that said, isn't it cool that we can fit the history of an entire race into one month?
