ok, due to an incompatability issue between windows 7 and my wireless card driver, it took longer than it should have to upgrade, and i have to say that the "music" played while i was on hold almost made me explode. all in all, however, a relatively painless upgrade, and the only programs affected by it were automatically updated by windows at the end of the process.

so far, the only improvement i've noticed is one click shutdown. the whole three click process in vista was silly. there are some visual changes, but i haven't been up and running long enough to fully report.
