Say what you like about drones, the Patriot Act, "indefinite detention", or any of the other buzzwords of the Left blogosphere, but these are not the words of a cynical man, or of one who would take those actions lightly. They are the words of a man who believes deeply in what he says, takes his duty and principles very seriously, and agonizes over the things he must do in order to beat a path through the realities of a seriously fucked up present towards the hope of a better future. I am not a knee-jerk supporter of everything the President does and says, but I am also not privy to everything he knows and the forces buffeting him from every side. I do believe he has more intelligence, focus, and integrity than any president in my lifetime, and I am proud to have helped elect him.
