(actually: March 2, 1970: Cleave Sharry of Dodge Trophies Inc. of Los Angeles dips Oscar statuettes in layers of copper, nickel and gold. The company in 1970 was marking its 35th year of providing the trophies for the Academy Awards presentation.)
