FYI

The Election Protection Project's hotline number just in case you see any monkey business on election day.

The number is 1-866-OUR-VOTE

The hotline will be staffed by attorneys and be able to provide state-specific advice and information on voting. If something illegal is going down, the hotline will be able to alert state coordinators and mobile field attorneys to do something about it.

remember when hitting random was fun?

i forget who posted this link a while back, but i've found myself going back a lot. it's where i found the animated electoral map, for example.

it is a site that shows the latest 250 images posted on livejournal, with a link to the post each comes from. it's almost what randomming used to be like.

WARNING! there are a few people out there posting disgusting images from rotten.com, and you will find nudity occasionally, so probably not a work-safe page, and be prepared to be shocked occasionally.

for the most part, though, it's a very interesting window on live journal.

WARNING #2 if you make a friends only post with an image in it, the image will show up here. i know this because i clicked on the link behind one of the images and got the "you are not authorized..." page.*

anyway, here it is:

latest CNN poll: Bush 51%, Kerry 45%

OK, say you have 1000 people. That makes 510 for Bush and 450 for Kerry. Say 50% of Bush supporters vote. That's 255 Votes for Bush. Kerry supporters need a 57% turnout to beat that with 256 votes. If Bush gets a 60% turnout, we need 69%. If Bush gets 40%, we need 46%. It's all about turnout! Go vote regardless of the polls!
