If I didn't use that, I'd have probably gone for something like fear or intolerance, myself.

you don't have to be ignorant of something to be afraid of it. sometimes ignorance keeps you from being afraid.

it's the same thing as saying ignorance is the root of hate.

there is no right answer to my question, or rather, all of them are right.

(although i think ignorance is the root of hate as well)
if one can come to fully understand something one can start to conquer their fear or hatred of it
we are in control of our own minds if we really try...

But ignorance in itself doesn't always cause hate. It may be one of the components of hatred, but ignorance alone isn't necessarily bad.

People can't know everything about everything; there's a whole lot we're going to remain ignorant of. Just because I don't know the details of the everyday life of a small civilization in, say, Borneo, doesn't mean I have hatred in my heart for the people who live there. In the same sense, I know nothing about you - I'm completely and totally ignorant of your life experiences. But I don't hate you.

I think the same can be said about fear. I could be afraid of you but that doesn't necessarily mean I hate you or want to do you harm. More likely I'd just hope you wouldn't do *me* any harm.

It might be enlightening to ask sometime what is good with the world. I'm sure there must be something ;)

Love.
Faith.
God.

I think that's a much easier question to ask. :)

I can't fill in your poll or see the answers. 8~(

What's wrong with the world is self interest. People put their own interests above the suffering of others. This fucks up politics, personal relationships, families, everything.
