i ate it raw. squeezed the seeds and pulp out and slurped 'em up. knock one off with a long stick when it is just starting to get rosy colored and break it open.

lol. i don't think the law prevents you from eating the fruit, (i swallowed the seeds), but even if it does, saguaros on private land aren't protected.

Ah. I was thinking about our wildflower protections. We can't pick the flowers, largely because they would not go to seed, and propagate themselves.

Odd foods

Since marrying my wife, I've been exposed to and have eaten foods I didn't know existed or even dreamed of eating. Calamari, sushi, seaweed, cactus, salted eggs, tofu. The list goes on and on.

But if you can find it I recommend a very good fruit called Lychee. I think it tastes like a cross between a cherry and a pear. It is best eaten fresh and cooled.
