AAA format radio is as close to what radio should be as you are going to find. AAA stands for Adult Album Alternative. typically a triple A station will have 200 albums, not singles, in heavy rotation, so the dj has to pick a certain number of songs from those cds every hour. they are typically precluded from playing songs that have been heard that day. then there are another 500 or so cds that are in medium rotation, from which the dj plays a smaller number of songs. that's about 7000! songs in rotation instead of less than 100 on most stations. then the dj gets 2 or three songs from anywhere in the many thousands of other cds on the shelves. lots of variety, very little repetition, and great selection.
