I think my brother has - I'll check. If not, I know he would highly recommend Macchu Picchu and Turkey.

Yeah, sadly that's understandable.

Ooh, how about the Canadian Rockies or the Olympic Mountains in Washington? I really loved the Olympics when I was there in the mid-70's.

Sounds good. I sent an email to my brother to find out if he has been to Guatemala, but I kinda don't think so. He wrote an amazing 31-page description of his trip to Peru and Chile - which I still have - and another one of Turkey which I'm looking for. Hm, maybe my friend BJ went to Guatamala - although it wouldn't have been as independent and adventurous a trip as those of my brother. I'll keep you posted.

My brother's response:

Yes, we went to Guatemala (and Costa Rica) a few years before we went to Peru (and Bolivia and Chile). We loved both trips. I would be happy to send insights, especially after June 11, but earlier if necessary.

(He's crazy busy with the end of the school year - he teaches continuation high school students - and other obligations right now.)

Why do you need to go somewhere "more removed from the us"? I don't follow.

none of your business. if you want to use an anonymous journal to troll my political posts, fine. just stay out of my personal life.

I don't quite understand how something you made public, is now personal. It was a simple question and didn't need to be met with such animosity. Except for the people you know, every person that specifically comments on your journal are all anonymous. That is the beauty of this website, and it's downfall, too.

i really don't care whether you understand. i said it is none of your business. get over it. your question was met with animosity because of your obvious agenda. i allow you to post to my journal because it amuses me to debate with you. that doesn't mean i have to like you.

Thanks, that answers my question. I wasn't really all that upset by your first response, so there is nothing to get over. Let me see if I have this straight, now. You respond with animosity, because you don't like me or my "agenda" at the same time you are amused. Is that right? Now, that is pretty funny. :)
