Anyone else ever wonder if underground nuclear tests are connected to earthquakes?

Don't have to wonder, just think for a minute. If you let off a 50 megaton bomb underground anywhere within a 300 mile radius of a tutonic plate, what the hell do you think is gonna happen? snow? hell no, a gosh darn earthquake
I used to live in Cali, good old south shakey town born n raised .. everytime they test there's another earthquake within a week.

I often wondered if the guys that play with those things were trying to knock Cali into the ocean, but wonder if that was what was causing them, nope, already knew, just used a bit O' logic. *smile*

there's cause and
there's effect..
just do the calculations...
just as somethingorothercelt just did (sorry)
thus = ta-da!!
a logical answer...pity most people need monetry gain to make their brains functional, and aslong as econonomy is ruling the mind, the people dont mind so it dont matter and we can all go to buggery eh!!!
Yeah and what about the nuclear testing in the pacsific ocean???
I swear it is making the hole in the ozone layer over the antarctic bigger...
oh but aslong as they are dumb australians noticing it, and noone else notices, so it doesnt matter eh...

We have a blasting company very close to our house....and thier little explosions trip up the seismography equipment.....We have little 2.0 tremors all the time....

I even heard of a company that was going to experiment with underground explosions to help relieve some of the stress on the San Andreas fault...which I also live VERY close to...

would not surprise me if the underground nuclear tests at least started a tsunami or quake....

(miss your posts Dave.....)

Interesting subject. We must have a whole lot of nuclear going on up here in Alaska then. :) We've had 8 earthquakes in the last 2 weeks. One of them 6.5 and above.

But the thought about it being nuclear up here is not surprising. This is the location where they are thinking of building that Missile Defense system.
